Born in Chicago, Joe played varsity football and baseball in Bowling Green, Ohio for BGHS and later played lacrosse at BGSU. A year abroad in Spain changed everything. As destiny would have it he ended up living in Zaragoza, running his own business, teaching Journalism at a private university then working as a SEO journalist for Diario AS.
Update:

Schauffele is back in action after taking time off after suffering a rib injury during the offseason. “I’ve never really dealt with injury before, so I’ve never really been sidelined,” Schauffele said. “I’m trying to find all the positives to attach to the situation, and me not being hurt before and sitting at home thinking all these thoughts.”

I think I can win

Schauffele has only played in four events so far in 2025:

  • The Sentry: T30
  • Arnold Palmer Invitational: T40
  • The Players Championship: 72
  • Valspar Championship: T12

He is hopeful that he can find the consistency and level he had in 2024 when he won the PGA and Open Championship. The Masters will be a challenge for him considering his lack of play so far. He has played well at Augusta National in the past:

  • 2024: 8
  • 2023: t10
  • 2022: cut
  • 2021: T3
  • 2020: T17
  • 2019: T2
  • 2018: T50

With his experience at Augusta National and his remarkable year in 2024, and despite the injury, Schauffele is feeling confident, “I think I said that after the PGA, at The Open: If I can get myself in a spot to win this thing, I feel pretty good about doing it, and I did it,” he said. “I think that kind of goes for every major I play in now. If I can get myself in a good spot ... I’m going to fail at times, but man, I think I can deal with it a lot better than I used to be able to before, before winning.”
