Update:

The Charles Schwab Challenge heads into the weekend with Ben Griffin and Matti Schmid sharing the top spot at Colonial Country Club. Both fired 7-under 63s on Friday to move to 11-under for the tournament, two shots ahead of John Pak, who followed up his opening-round 61 with a more subdued 68.

For Griffin, this week could mark his first individual PGA Tour win, just weeks after he lifted a team title at the Zurich Classic. The 29-year-old also made headlines with a T8 finish at the PGA Championship, his best showing at a major. Schmid, meanwhile, has yet to taste victory on Tour, but his bogey-free second round hints that the German may be ready to change that.

With so many names packed closely on the leaderboard, Saturday’s tee times are drawing more attention than usual. Here’s what you need to know.

What time do Griffin and Schmid tee off on Saturday?

The final group – featuring Griffin, Schmid, and Pak – tees off at 12:55 p.m. They’ll have the final say in Round 3, but plenty of players just behind them will aim to shake things up long before that.

Don’t call it a comeback yet, but Rickie Fowler’s second-round 64, powered by a blazing 29 on the back nine, is his best round in months. He’ll play alongside Doug Ghim and Brice Garnett, each sitting at 6-under, as they try to reel in the leaders. They set off at 12:33 p.m.

Chris Gotterup has quietly become one of the week’s more interesting stories. A bogey-free 65 pushed him to 8 under, and he’s found something with his approach game – not just his usual power off the tee. He’s paired with Akshay Bhatia and Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune in the 12:44 PM group.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler starts the day at just 1 under, well back of the leaders. He tees off at 9:38 a.m. with Lee Hodges and Gary Woodland. Jordan Spieth, who birdied late to make the cut, will begin his third round much earlier, at 8:06 a.m. with Lucas Glover.
