Update:

The Golden State Warriors will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals tonight. But with the series tied at 1-1, the Warriors will be without their star - guard Stephen Curry - as he’s out with a hamstring strain.

He may be out of the game, but Curry is never out of the news. And this time, he’s in it for comments his sister, Sydel Curry-Lee, made on a podcast.

Steph Curry’s sister sets the record straight

Sydel Curry-Lee, Steph Curry’s sister, joined WNBA star Cameron Brink on their podcast “Straight to Cam” and decided she needed to set the record straight about her husband.

Curry-Lee is married to Phoenix Suns player Damion Lee, who also happens to be Curry’s former teammate on the Warriors from 2018 to 2022. That led many people to assume that this was how they met, and she got tired of having to shut down one ignorant comment.

“Everyone thinks that the narrative around our relationship is that Damion Lee bagged his teammate’s sister,” Curry-Lee said. “No! Damion and I were together way before he joined the Warriors. We got together in 2016.”

Curry-Lee and Lee indeed met in 2016 when he was playing for the Maine Red Claws (now the NBA G League’s Maine Celtics). It wasn’t until 2018 that he joined the Warriors. The couple got married that same year.

By 2022, Lee had won the NBA championship with Curry against the Boston Celtics. Now, the 6′5″ shooting guard plays for the Phoenix Suns, and he and Curry-Lee have two children together - a son, Daxon Wardell-Xavier Lee (three years old), and a daughter, Daryn Alicia Lee (one year old). The full episode featuring Curry-Lee will be released on Monday.
