Update:

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says he doesn’t expect Steph Curry to be back for Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, after the point guard limped out of the teams’ Conference Semi-Finals opener yesterday.

Curry had to leave Game 1 after pulling up with a hamstring injury in the first half in Minneapolis, where the Warriors went on to take a series lead with a 99-88 win.

Speaking post-game at Target Center, Kerr told reporters that Curry will undergo an MRI scan today, to ascertain the full extent of the issue.

“Hard to imagine he would play”

Revealing that Curry is “crushed” after suffering the injury, Kerr said: “We’re definitely game planning for him to not be available [for Game 2] on Thursday.

“We don’t know yet, but with a hamstring, it’s hard to imagine that he would play on Thursday […]. I’m sure we’ll get an update tomorrow.”

“Amazing group of guys”

Kerr also praised his players for overcoming the blow of losing Curry to secure Game 1 victory, as the Warriors chase their first NBA championship since 2022.

“Obviously we’re all concerned about Steph, but it’s part of the game,” the 59-year-old said. “Guys get hurt, you move on.

Our guys did a great job of moving on and getting a great win, 48 hours after Game 7 [of the First-Round series against Houston Rockets]. It’s an amazing group of guys.”
