After a marathon 82 games, the NBA 23-24 regular season has come to an end with four teams advancing to the play-in tournament.

Update:

The 2023-24 NBA regular season drew to a close on Sunday night with a simultaneous last round of games taking place initially in the Eastern Conference and then matters in the West came to a conclusion after 82 regular season matches.

With the top six teams in each Conference advancing to the playoffs, teams finishing in seventh through to tenth have another opportunity to keep their season alive via the play-in after the format was introduced by the league in 2020.

Western Conference play-in

In the West, the play-in gets underway on Tuesday next with the first two games seeing 9th placed Kings face 10th placed Warriors, the loser of this match-up is eliminated and reaches the end of the line for the 23-24 season.

The winner progresses to face the loser of the second game of the play-in as seventh placed Pelicans take on 8th placed Lakers.

The winner of this game secure the No. 7 seed in the playoffs and will face No. 2 seed Minnesota.

The final game of this three-game series will see the winner of Kings-Warriors face the loser of Pelicans-Lakers and the winner of this match-up will occupy the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference playoffs and face a tough task being pitted by the in-form OKC Thunder.

Western Conference: play-in times

Both games will be played on Tuesday, 16 April with the Lakers heading to New Orleans with a 7:30pm (ET) start.

The second game will be staged in Sacramento as the Kings welcome the Warriors with the tip-off scheduled for 10pm (ET).

The game involving the winner of Kings-Warriors against the loser of Pelicans-Lakers to determine the No.8 seed will be staged on Friday with the time yet to be confirmed by the NBA.
