Mark Cuban speaks out for first time after Luka Doncic trade: “Just get a better deal”
Former Dallas Mavericks majority owner Mark Cuban broke his silence on the Luka Doncic trade for the first time. Shocker - he agrees with the rest of us.

The first feeling of any Dallas Mavericks fan after finding out that they traded away their generational superstar to the Los Angeles Lakers was dread. The only thing that may have slightly alleviated that feeling was that in return for Luka Doncic, the Mavericks certainly must have received gold.
Well, no offense to Anthony Davis, but I don’t think anyone would consider him gold. Maybe silver? Former majority owner Mark Cuban, who (like almost everyone) did not know about the deal ahead of time, has kept mostly quiet about the ordeal. Until now.

As it turns out, Cuban agrees with the rest of us. In an interview with WFAA, he said he was perplexed by the trade as well.
“If the Mavs are going to trade Luka, that’s one thing,” Cuban said. “Just get a better deal. No disrespect to Anthony Davis, but I still firmly believe if we had gotten four unprotected No. 1s and Anthony Davis and Max Christie, this would be a different conversation.”

Although Cuban still owns 27.7% of the team, he’s no longer involved in this kind of decision-making. He wouldn’t touch on whether or not he personally would’ve traded Doncic, but we can gather that it’s unlikely.
“I’m not going there. It doesn’t matter,” he said.
