Caitlin Clark kicked off her second season in the WNBA with a triple-double on Saturday, as the Indiana Fever opened up with victory over the Chicago Sky, the franchise’s major rival in the Midwest.
What were Clark’s stats in Fever win over Sky?
Clark registered 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 93-58 win for the Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The 23-year-old point guard, who was selected as the No. 1 pick in the 2024 Draft, is considered the favorite to win the WNBA’s MVP award this season.
The former Iowa Hawkeyes star connected on six of her 13 field goal attempts and four of her eight three-point attempts. She also recorded two steals and four blocks.
Aliyah Boston also impressed for the Fever, with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Chicago’s stand-out performer was Angel Reese, with 12 points and 17 rebounds.
The Fever and the Sky will face each other again on February 7 at United Center in Chicago, the largest NBA stadium and the home of the Chicago Bulls. The arena is to open its doors to this WNBA matchup due to the high demand for tickets to see Clark play.

Liberty begin title defense with win
This Saturday also witnessed the season opener of the New York Liberty, the WNBA’s reigning champions.
Breanna Stewart shone with 25 points for the Liberty, as the team from the Big Apple claimed a 92-78 victory over the Las Vegas Aces, the winners of the WNBA in 2022 and 2023.
