76ers lose another star player for the rest of the season
Tyrese Maxey will not play for the Philadelphia 76ers for the rest of the season after suffering an injury.

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is set to be ruled out for the rest of the season due to a finger tendon injury, according to reports.
Having been out since March 3, it was revealed via various reports that the 24-year-old was not able to recover in time before the end of campaign, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told ESPN.
Back on on February 26 he admitted that the issue was affecting “mostly just my shot and my ball handling” and that “I can’t really pound the ball like I want to, but I’m not going to make any excuses”; it appears now to be a lot more serious.

Maxey extends 76ers injury list
NBC reported Maxey didn’t “look comfortable in his pregame workout at Madison Square Garden“, mostly ”taking shots inside with his left hand and did not extend beyond the mid-range with his right."
The injury to Maxey is the latest in a long line of physical issues throughout the roster, including Joel Embiid, Paul George, veteran Eric Gordon and rookie Jared McCain.
Maxey has averaged a career-high 26.3 points with 6.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds across 52 games this season. He made his first All-Star team and was the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2023-24, but is shooting a career-low 43.7% from the floor this season.
