You won’t believe what Chicago Cubs’ shortstop Nico Hoerner said to the umpire before getting ejected
The Chicago Cubs are enjoying a solid season and currently sit aloft the National League Central standings.


Despite being one of the in-form MLB teams this season, the Chicago Cubs (40-25) fell to Detroit on Sunday losing the final game (4-0) of the three match series having won one game after losing the Friday opener.
During the action, Cubs’ shortstop Nico Hoerner was ejected from the game and in the post match debrief, the 28-year-old Oakland confessed what he said to the umpire.

“I don’t that it’s that often that you can verbatim say to the press afterwards, what got you thrown out. So, I said to him: ‘you’re having a really bad day’”.
The tension arose during the game over a call from MLB umpire Derek Thomas as he called Hoerner out on a bad called third strike. He then swiftly ejected Hoerner after Hoerner protested the call with the incident coming in the top of the fifth inning.
