Royals call up top prospect Jac Caglianone: Patrick Mahomes’ reaction on social media says it all
Kansas City are 31-29 for the season so far and have decided to call up the 22-year-old Florida native.

Having enjoyed a mixed season so far, the Kansas City Royals have made a decision to offer prospect Jac Caglianone a taste of big league action.
The 22-year-old is widely tipped as one of the top prospects in Major League Baseball and has impressed in minor league already.
In 50 games over two levels in 2025, he’s slashing .322/.389/.593 with 15 home runs and 56 RBIs. The player was selected by Kansas City as the sixth pick in the 2024 MLB draft.
In his time at the University of Florida, Caglianone broke the school record for home runs in a career and was a two-time All-American. He also pitched for the Gators, but has since moved away from the mound.

Mahomes hyped
With the news that the Royals may field Caglianone in the not too distant future, KC Chiefs quarterback (and minor shareholder in the baseball team) Patrick Mahomes posed a ‘very excited’ gif on his X/Twitter account alongside the news posted by ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
