MLB reveals 2025 All-Star selections, as chosen by the fans
Ahead of Wednesday’s announcement only Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani had been confirmed, as the two leaders in their respective leagues.

The two sets of starters for the 2025 MLB All-Star game were confirmed on Wednesday night, setting up the latest edition of the iconic event later this month.
Ahead of the announcement the only players to be confirmed were the leading vote-getters in each of the leagues: Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This year’s game will be played at Truist Park in Cumberland, Georgia, the home of the Atlanta Braves, on Tuesday, July 15. Here’s a look at the rest of the starters...
American League All-Star starters
Catcher: Cal Raleigh (Seattle Mariners)
First baseman: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Toronto Blue Jays)
Second baseman: Gleyber Torres (Detroit Tigers)
Third baseman: José Ramírez (Cleveland Guardians)
Shortstop: Jacob Wilson (Athletics)
Outfielders: Aaron Judge (New York Yankees); Riley Greene (Detroit Tigers); Javier Báez (Tigers)
Designated hitter: Ryan O'Hearn (Orioles)
National League All-Star starters
Catcher: Will Smith (Los Angeles Dodgers)
First baseman: Freddie Freeman (Los Angeles Dodgers)
Second baseman: Ketel Marte (Arizona Diamondbacks)
Third baseman: Manny Machado (San Diego Padres)
Shortstop: Francisco Lindor (New York Mets)
Outfielders: Ronald Acuña Jr. (Atlanta Braves); Pete Crow-Armstrong (Chicago Cubs); Kyle Tucker (Chicago Cubs)
Designated hitter: Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers)
The list for the 2025 game includes a handful of new names, players set to play in the All-Star game for the first time. The MLB’s current home run leader Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners will make his first appearance in the game. As will Jacob Wilson of the Athletics, a contender to be crowned Rookie of the Year in the American League.
“Just trying to stay as consistent as I can... My work, preparation going into games and my approach at the plate,” Raleigh told ESPN after his selection was confirmed. “It’s been working out so far, and I just got to keep it rolling and keep my head down.
“This is all I’ve ever known... This city, Seattle. They’ve taken me in with open arms and I’m very blessed and very lucky to have them in my corner. They’ve been awesome and they’ve always been there for me in this organization."
