Another historic first for the New York Yankees
The New York Yankees have made history, becoming the first Major League Baseball franchise to open two games with three consecutive home runs.

After a tough loss in the series opener at Oriole Park on Monday, the New York Yankees bounced back on Tuesday with an incredible home run display in the second game of the week. The “Bronx Bombers” made Major League Baseball history and continue to hold their place at the top of the American League East.
Just like in their second game of the regular season, when they took on Néstor Cortés and the Milwaukee Brewers, the Yankees unleashed their batting force with a historic back-to-back-to-back home run display to kick off today’s matchup. With three consecutive home runs by New York’s offense, they’ve solidified their place in history as the only franchise ever to achieve this feat in two games within a single season.

Historic homers
Trent Grisham, Aaron Judge, and Ben Rice wasted no time delivering a tough welcome to Kyle Gibson in Baltimore. The center fielder launched his eighth home run of the season deep into right field, followed by the Yankees’ captain, who smashed his ninth homer in the same direction. Not to be outdone, the designated hitter added to the onslaught with his seventh long ball of the year, capping off a powerful start for New York’s lineup.
In the very first inning, after Paul Goldschmidt was retired for the first out, Cody Bellinger smashed another home run, extending the Yankees’ lead to 4-0. The offensive fireworks continued with a triple from Jazz Chisholm Jr., which soon became a 5-0 advantage after Anthony Volpe drove in another run with a double. However, the celebration was tempered as Chisholm left the game a suspected injury, and Oswald Peraza crossed home plate in his place.

Bronx Bombers’ explosive display
In the second inning, Ben Rice crushed his eighth home run of the season, once again sending the ball deep into right field and extending the Yankees’ lead to 6-0. The fourth inning saw a small rally from New York, starting with Paul Goldschmidt, who brought Aaron Judge home with a single to make it 7-0. Shortly after, Oswald Peraza hit a double, driving in two more runs as Rice and Goldschmidt crossed the plate, pushing the score to 9-0.
Another highlight for the Yankees was the stellar performance by Carlos Rodón, who delivered an impressive six innings of work. The Cuban-born starter allowed just two hits, two earned runs, one walk, and struck out seven batters. Rodón carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but Jorge Mateo ended the bid with a hit. Ian Hamilton then took over in relief to close things out.
