Ubisoft delays major productions, but Prince of Persia remake remains on track

Ubisoft has postponed several of its biggest upcoming titles, but Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still set for release in 2026.

Assassin's Creed Shadows

During its latest financial report, Ubisoft confirmed that it has delayed multiple major productions to allow its studios more development time. The company emphasized that this approach has already benefited Assassin’s Creed Shadows, ensuring a higher-quality final product.

While Ubisoft did not specify which other games have been postponed, the statement suggests that franchises like Far Cry, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell may be affected.

Prince of Persia remake remains on schedule

Despite the delays, Ubisoft reassured fans that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still expected to launch in early 2026.

Originally announced in 2020, the remake was initially scheduled for January 2021, but was postponed due to quality concerns. Ubisoft later changed studios and restarted development, leading to further delays.

Ubisoft and Tencent’s new partnership

Ubisoft has also announced a new subsidiary in collaboration with Tencent, which will oversee major franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six. The partnership aims to expand Ubisoft’s reach, particularly in mobile gaming and the Chinese market.
