Galactic Battle is Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3’s month-long themed event centered on ’Star Wars‘. To build excitement ahead of its 2 May release, Epic Games revealed the new Fortnite island map during this stage of the game. In this article, we explore how the island has evolved between seasons and highlight the new areas.

The new season has brought a new map full of secrets and new locations to discover. Below, you will find a map of the new season of Fortnite.

As can be seen, the map is based on that of the previous season, but new named locations have been added and others modified. In terms of design, it is a “conservative” map in that the locations that have been modified to make way for the new ones are in the corners; Whiffy Wharf, Demon’s Dojo, Shogun’s Solitude, and Hopeful Heights have been removed to make way for the new locations. The season’s theme is clearly ‘Star Wars’, as represented by the four newly named locations.

The train that runs through the central part of the island is still operational, so we can use it to travel through the central section and take the opportunity to loot the area.

In short, this new Fortnite season features a revamped map with plenty of new content to keep players interested. As this season is only a month long, it seems unlikely that the map will change drastically from start to finish. This is why the map that has already been shown will not be modified significantly in the form of new locations.

First Order Base

The First Order has set up a base in the snow in the north-east of the island. They have converted a broken-down AT-AT walker into a restaurant and supply area.

Resistance Base

The Resistance has set up camp in the north-west of the island, in a wooded area near the coast.

Outpost Enclave

This desert site has architecture reminiscent of Mos Eisley. It is located in the southeast of the island.

Vader Samurai’s Solitude

Lord Vader has taken an interest in samurai culture and has taken over the feudal temple to the southwest of the island.

Several zones have been removed from the previous map in this new season, as new areas have replaced them. Demon’s Dojo, Hopeful Heights, Shogun’s Solitude and Whiffy Wharf. A complete list of the named locations at the start of the new season can be found below:

As you can see, the new Fortnite map features brand new locations packed with hidden nooks and crannies to explore and loot to collect. While the new areas focus on ‘Star Wars’, the returning areas from previous seasons still feature Japanese and urban aesthetics, including dojos, temples, large cities and feudal-era fortresses. In other words, this “cocktail” of different themes is accentuated in this new season.

When does the new Fortnite season start? Date and times:

Galactic Battle, Fortnite’s Chapter 6 Season 3, will begin next Friday, 2 May 2025, at 1:30 a.m. This time is equivalent to the following in various US territories:

Remember that simply logging in is not enough; to play the new Fortnite season, we must first connect at the specified time and download patch 35.00, which adds all the new features. This will happen automatically when we start Fortnite, as the game will detect that we are trying to access an outdated version.

Once the download is complete, you will also need to wait several hours for the server maintenance to finish. This period of inactivity may last several hours, but in extreme cases it has lasted almost a whole day.
