From nostalgic platformers to inventive indies, summer 2025 is shaping up to be a strong sendoff for Nintendo’s hybrid console. Here’s a curated list of Switch 1-compatible games arriving this Summer.
June 2025
- Tamagotchi Plaza – June 27: Return as shopkeeper in Tamahiko Town. Manage 12 charming shops, link to Tamagotchi Uni for exclusive content.
July 2025
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 – July 11: Ground-up HD remake. Online multiplayer, Create-A-Skater upgrades, classic parks and soundtracks.
- Patapon 1 + 2 Replay – July 11: Two PSP rhythm-action cult hits remastered with co-op support, difficulty options and quality-of-life features.
- Hunter × Hunter: Nen × Impact – July 16: First full-scale Hunter × Hunter 3v3 fighter with Nen abilities, tag mechanics and rollback netcode.
- The Wandering Village – July 17: Ghibli-inspired city-builder on the back of a giant creature. Manage settlement, resources and symbiosis.
- Shadow Labyrinth – July 18: 2D action-adventure/metroidvania hybrid from Bandai Namco, starring a swordsman and orb “PUCK.”
- Misc. A Tiny Tale – July 22: A 3D platform-puzzle game starring two tiny robots cleaning and restoring mini-villages with heartfelt narrative.
- No Sleep for Kaname Date – July 25: AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES spin-off. Investigation, dream-world puzzles and escape-room sections starring detective Date.
- Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game – July 29: Cozy Hobbit life sim in Bywater: farm, decorate, cook and build relationships. Physical and digital editions.
- Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound – July 31: Retro 2D pixel-art reboot of the classic hack-and-slash, by The Game Kitchen and Dotemu.
August 2025
- Gradius Origins – August 7: Anthology of six Konami shoot ’em up classics plus new features: rewind, save-anywhere and invincible mode.
- Iwakura Aria – August 14: Mature visual novel/adventure set in 1966 Japan. Play as a maid unraveling family secrets with multiple endings.
- Toaplan Arcade Collection Vol. 1 – August 14: Eight legendary shoot ’em ups (Twin Cobra, Batsugun, FixEight, etc.) with leaderboards, filters and quality-of-life options.
- Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar – August 27: Bazaar-focused farming sim. Grow crops, raise animals, sell at weekly market, ride glider and romance townsfolk.
September 2025
- Shuten Order – September 5: Multi-genre thriller from Danganronpa’s Kazutaka Kodaka. Five gameplay systems: stealth, visual novel, detective, escape, romance.
- Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – September 25: Technically past Summer, but it couldn’t be left out. High-speed kart racer with Travel Rings, 23 characters, 45 vehicles and crossovers (Persona 5, Minecraft, Hatsune Miku).
