Krysten Ritter is returning to the MCU to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2
Will The Defenders be back?

It seems that the Marvel characters we met in the Netflix series are slowly being integrated into the MCU. This afternoon, it was announced that Jessica Jones—the hard-fighting, hard-drinking detective—will be back, with Krysten Ritter reprising her role.
Jessica Jones is back!
The character will appear in season two of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ it was announced this afternoon during the Disney upfront presentation. The actress took the stage with Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil, also known as the “Man Without Fear,” and shared a few words about her return.
“It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU,” Ritter said. “I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”
Jessica Jones first appeared in comics written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Michael Gaydos in Alias #1, which was released as part of Marvel’s MAX imprint in November 2001. With her great strength, alcohol problems, and detective skills, Jessica Jones began to stand out. Since then, she has appeared regularly in Marvel Comics, joining the New Avengers in 2010 after the events of Civil War.
The Marvel series debuted on Netflix in 2014 with Daredevil. In 2015, Krysten Ritter brought Jessica Jones to life. Later came Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher, as well as the crossover series The Defenders. Jessica Jones had three seasons, but the series was canceled in 2019, along with the other Marvel shows on the streaming service.

Could the return of Krysten Ritter and the successful release of Daredevil on Disney+ pave the way for the rest of The Defenders to return to TV? It might be too early to say, but we can hardly wait for their comeback.
