Confirmed! Here’s how you can get the GameCube controller for Switch 2 (but there’s a catch)
It’s a controller that lets you enjoy the classics as you played them more than 20 years ago.

The Nintendo Switch 2 arrives next month with a special bonus for nostalgic gamers. Starting June 5, those who pre-order the console will be able to play not only new titles but also GameCube classics through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription. Along with the announcement of the console, Nintendo revealed that it will release a classic GameCube controller to accompany the experience. How can you get it? Read on to find out.
How and when can you buy a Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube Controller?
Obtaining this GameCube controller for the Nintendo Switch 2 will not be easy. Following the trend with past controllers for Nintendo Switch Online games, Nintendo will only make it available through its official store, so you won’t find it in other retail stores. The company will select a group of users and send them an exclusive invitation to pre-order the controller. These invitations will be sent out between May 8 and 12.
Starting May 13, users with an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription will be able to order the controller for $64.99. Of course, the sale is limited to one per Nintendo account, so pay attention to avoid missing out.
Which GameCube games are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2?
Players who subscribe to the online service will be able to enjoy some unforgettable classics from day one, including F-Zero GX, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Soulcalibur II, which will be available on June 5.

And while no specific date has been confirmed, the announcement trailer also showed previews of other highly anticipated games such as Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Luigi’s Mansion, Chibi-Robo, Pokémon Colosseum, and Super Mario Sunshine, suggesting that they could be added to the catalog in the coming months.
