On offer were breakfast items such as specially-crafted coffees, frappés, iced teas, lemonades, and energy drinks.
McDonald’s opened five spin-off locations in Illinois and Texas and currently has eight CosMc’s restaurants nationwide.
The fast food chain recently announced that it will begin testing a brand new range of drinks, inspired by CosMc’s at various locations - a pilot scheme designed to help the company outperform rivals: Burger King, Starbucks, Dinkin’ etc. CEO Chris Kempczinski stated that Q1 2025 was challenging for company due to various factors, with a 3.6% drop in sales across the US - largely a consequence of lower consumer sentiment and financial strains on low-to-middle income customers.

Then there are the practical obstacles to overcome - many of the beverages CosMc’s currently offer (eg. Pistachio Swirl Shaken Espresso, Iced French Toast Galaxy Latte) are more time-consuming to make than a standard coffee.
Among the most popular items on CosMc’s menu are drinks like Popping Pear Slush, Churro Cold Brew Frappé, Sour Cherry Energy Burst... while food options at the chain include Blueberry Lemon Cookies, Savory Hashbrown Bites along with their Spicy Queso Sandwich and Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich and bites.
