Not only for weight loss: This is the other condition Ozempic may help you with according to a new study
In a new study, Ozempic - a drug sold to help with obesity and diabetes - is attributed to helping this disease.

Ozempic continues to grow in popularity in the U.S. as it’s being linked to helping with much more than just weight loss. While Ozempic and similar drug Wegovy (semaglutide) are both sold to treat diabetes and obesity, it’s been linked with helping treat another disease as well.
Ozempic linked to MASH treatment
A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine revealed that semaglutide can have significant benefits for those suffering from liver disease - more specifically, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious fatty liver disease.
The study took place over 72 weeks and observed around 800 patients. Those who were given semaglutide treatment showed significant signs of improvement, including almost two-thirds showing reduced liver inflammation and over a third with less liver scarring. Experts say this could help prevent life-threatening conditions like cirrhosis or liver failure.
Last year, the FDA approved Rezdiffra (resmetirom)as the only medication to treat MASH. Longer studies are still needed to confirm Ozempic’s long-term benefits, despite the study’s positive results. Side effects were consistent with known semaglutide reactions: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and weight loss.
